Kick-off Planting at Bear River a HUGE Success!

January 15, 2016

Success found us last Saturday at the Bear River Habitat Trail in Yuba County! Sixty volunteers of all ages braved the muddy conditions and threatening skies to plant just under 700 native trees, shrubs, flowering perennials, grasses, and bulbs. This is a great start and puts us well on our way toward this year’s planting goal of approximately 2,500 new plants. We were thrilled to meet many of you from the Plumas Lake Community and appreciate the help from the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and all the supporters that drove in from surrounding areas to help. Tree Cheers for a job well done!

Missed the first event? Ready to do it again? We have two opportunities live and accepting volunteer registrations! Please join us on January 23 from 9-12:30 pm and February 6 from 9-12:30 pm. More opportunities to volunteer may be added later this spring as the project warrants; please check our Events Page often! Have a question about volunteering or want to sign up a big group? Give Volunteer Specialist, Heather, a call at (916) 974-4310 or drop her a line at heather@sactree.com.

Don’t like to get muddy? Have other talents to share? We are always interested in having help with things such as workday photography, providing snacks for volunteers, sign-in and set-up work, music to support and motivate our volunteer planters…..you name it! We would love to hear all about how you would like to be involved! Zarah’s accepting ideas on skill and talent sharing – reach her at (916) 924-4307 or zarah@sactree.com

We hope to see you out there!
