Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, Elk Grove
Friday, April 28 9:00A - 2:30P
Come get dirty with us! We will be reforesting a portion of Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge by planting native seedlings along the edge of reclaimed agricultural lands in celebration of National Arbor Day! With your help, we hope to plant 750 new tree seedlings which will eventually provide habitat for local wildlife. This is a great event for everyone! Snacks and lunch will be provided.
Morning and afternoon shifts are available.
Saturday, May 13 9:00A - 12:00P
Join us in planting 250 new native trees, shrubs and other native plants at the Bear River Habitat Trail and provide care of the already existing trees, shrubs, and native plants previously planted by our volunteers. Once complete, the trail will provide a beautiful, shaded place for Plumas Lake's residents and visitors to walk and ride bicycles. The trail will also provide an important habitat corridor for wildlife.
