Volun-CHEERS for a successful 2023-24 planting season!
Each year, from October through April when the weather is most suitable for young trees to go into the ground, the Sacramento Tree Foundation hosts numerous volunteer tree planting events throughout the region. Thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm of our dedicated volunteers and supporters, we wrapped up another tree-mendous planting season!

We are putting cash in the hands of residents and community groups because we know that the people who live, work and play in South Sacramento are most knowledgeable about how to grow a full and healthy tree canopy in their community.

We recently had two events in South Sacramento: one at Pollock Ranch Park on August 19thand the other at Nielsen Park on August 26th. With great volunteer turnouts at both events, we were able to mulch about 130 trees. We also removed trash from the parks, including candy wrappers, water bottles and even a motorcycle battery.
