European hornbeam
Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata'
We are not providing this tree at this time but it may be available for purchase from local nurseries.
A classic tree in English gardens. This tree is identified by its well-manicured, oval-shaped, ornamental look. When pruned, it is very easy to keep the European hornbeam looking neat and tidy with a narrow, more upright structure than most trees that grows rounder with maturity. It has attractive dark green leaves that grow out with a unique crinkled pattern in the summer before fading to a soft yellow color in the fall. The European hornbeam is known for its dense, hard wood that tends to make it a strong and low-maintenance tree.
