Folsom Free Tree Truck Event

The Sacramento Tree Foundation and SMUD want to give you free trees! By pre-registering for this event, our Community Foresters or Arborists will site your property and deliver a free shade tree to your door on the same day!

Those who pre-register will be able to request their preferred tree species from our provided list. Availability and actual tree species may vary dependent on inventory and property limitations (such as space required for certain species).

Tree sitings and deliveries will take place between 2:00PM and 5:30PM. Preferred siting and delivery time slots can be selected when registering. The registered resident or property owner must be present during the time of siting and delivery.

The Sacramento Tree Foundation offers a variety of species of trees that grow well in the Sacramento region and are suitable to grow near homes and buildings. Our selection includes a variety of mature sizes, growth rates, water needs, flowers, fall color, and deciduous and evergreen varieties.

PLEASE NOTE: Prior to attending this event, property owners should call 811 in order to have their land marked for buried utilities. The Sacramento Tree Foundation will only be delivering trees and is not responsible for damage to utilities when the tree is planted.

Who should register?

This event is reserved for residents and property owners in the Russell Ranch neighborhood of Folsom, south of the US 50 highway, surrounding East Bidwell Street. Due to delivery restrictions, registrants from outside of this area may have their registration cancelled prior to the event. Renters should contact their property owners prior to obtaining or requesting a tree on this day.

Pre-registration is required for this event.

Those not in this neighborhood are welcome to request free trees through our Sacramento Shade program.

Requirements

Register in advance: Space and inventory is limited. If your plans change prior to the event, please update your registration status so we are sure to have an accurate inventory of trees.

Youth attendees: Registrants requesting trees must be 18 years of age or older.

COVID safety: Although we encourage attendees to be fully vaccinated, all attendees can choose to wear facial coverings at their own discretion. Anyone who has tested positive for COVID should not attend, unless more than 5 days have passed and they are asymptomatic and have tested negative on day 6 or later – please provide advance notice of cancellation when possible.

At the Sacramento Tree Foundation, we work with community members to support their visions of growing green neighborhoods. This event is part of Folsom NeighborWoods, an initiative to grow and care for the urban forest in Folsom.
