Bur oak
Quercus macrocarpa
We are not providing this tree at this time but it may be available for purchase from local nurseries.
The bur oak is a resilient tree native to the floodplains of the Midwestern and Northeastern United States. When getting established, it requires a bit more water than California’s native oaks, but once mature it is a relatively low water user. Beautiful and exceptionally large leaves can easily be more than 6 inches long. These massive leaves on this elegant tree make it a great source of shade, and its huge acorns make great lawn decorations and craft projects.
