California buckeye
Aesculus californica
We are not providing this tree at this time but it may be available for purchase from local nurseries.
This California native has large fragrant white flowers and brown 2-to-3" round, shiny fruit. It conserves water in summer by losing leaves early. Valuable to native pollinators like the checkerspot butterfly, but toxic to honeybees so should not be grown near apiaries or orchards.
