Chinese pistache
Pistacia chinensis

This wide-spreading shade tree is a favorite throughout Sacramento because of its vibrant red and fluorescent orange fall color. The Chinese pistache is an adaptable tree that can grow happily in a lawn but does not require excessive water to thrive. This tree is a great choice for planting strips or narrower areas that could benefit from a wide-spreading canopy of shade because its root system is famously non-aggressive. We offer male 'Keith Davey' trees or 'Red Push' hybrids that do not produce berries.
