Red maple
Acer rubrum

This large tree is native to eastern North America and is sought after for its spectacular fall colors. The red maple has an oval-shaped, dense canopy, grows quickly, and provides excellent shade. This tree is generally a heavy water user and does best in moist areas with consistent watering. Cultivar availability varies but we offer 'October Glory' and 'Red Sunset'.
Equine safety note: the dried leaves and seeds of this tree are toxic to horses when consumed.
