Shantung maple

This fast-growing shade tree is prized for its brilliant fall color and smaller size. Its rapid growth and dense, round canopy make it an excellent source of shade, but its shorter frame allows it to grow in smaller spaces that may not accommodate larger trees. The Shantung maple is rather delicate when getting established and does best with consistent watering and good drainage, but is fairly drought-tolerant when mature. Great option if you want a tree that is not messy other than leaves dropping in the fall.
