Trident maple
Acer buergerianum
This lovely maple has a round, full canopy once established and is easily identified by its 3-pointed leaves and bark that peels off in long vertical strips once the tree is mature. This tree grows fairly quickly and has great orange-y fall color. The trident maple does well in moist environments such as lawns but is also moderately drought-tolerant once mature.
