We’ve moved, but we’re still seeking a forever home

We’re pleased to share that the Sacramento Tree Foundation offices and nursery have moved to Depot Park, joining our Urban Wood Rescue and seedling propagation facilities. You can continue to find lumber for sale at Urban Wood Rescue in the same location at 6045 Midway Street within Depot Park, but please update your records with our new office and mailing address:

We are very excited to find this location that will temporarily house all of our operations from seed to slab so visitors can experience the multitude of ways they can get involved with stewardship of the urban forest. Special thanks to Bob Slobe and the North Sacramento Land Company for their generosity and care as our landlord for many years.
Still seeking our forever home
However, we intend to purchase a more permanent home where we can put down roots. Historically, our offices were rarely visited by community members, serving mainly as a hub for staff and operations. As part of our mission to grow thriving communities through stewardship of our urban forest, we realize the need to provide a more inclusive space to serve as a regional center for learning, connection, and innovation around our City of Trees.
We envision an accessible, sustainable, and welcoming facility that offers indoor community gathering spaces for educational programming, a state-of-the-art demonstration garden with water wise landscaping, an urban wood showroom, flexible indoor office space, and outdoor facilities to house our nursery and sawmill operations.
Due to the unique nature of our operations, there are some requirements for this property. Do you know of a location that might fit the bill? Do you have real estate that you’d like to donate toward this vision? The ideal property will be:
- Zoned industrial, agricultural or commercial to allow for our sawmill operations
- Accessible via public transit and bike trails
- At least 2 acres to accommodate office and educational space, outdoor sawmill operations, an outdoor tree nursery, a warehouse for fleet and tools, and a demonstration arboretum
- A blank slate with existing utility access/rights and driveway
