Making an impact in Rancho Cordova

Alongside dedicated volunteers, residents, and the City of Rancho Cordova, we’ve been hard at work bringing trees to under-canopied neighborhoods in the area. Earlier this month, 44 trees were planted in the South White Rock neighborhood–one of the biggest community planting events the City and SacTree have completed in 2023!

Another successful year of saving the elms

Sacramento’s historic elms helped us earn the title of City of Trees. Unfortunately, our beloved elms are being threatened by the incurable Dutch elm disease (DED). Each year the Tree Foundation partners with City of Sacramento Urban Forestry to train community scientists to help monitor these trees and prevent the spread of DED.
